Things of God Spoken Word Poetry
Alive
Things of God by Emily Ulman
Things of God, What Scripture Reveals Our Spirit Experiences During Our Dying shares the results of much time spent in God’s Word. I’m now on a quest that, though I would never have chosen it, I can’t not continue. My quest is to get this book into the hands so many struggling with their end of life coming sooner than expected, and those struggling with loss. I find it a comfort and a powerful tool; one I think Christ has big plans to use to impact His Kingdom for His glory.
Pride and selfishness to subside, personal drive by the wayside
What was in front now behind; strong on me this pull of pride
But stronger my need to live in dependency in Him
In all willingness, allowing the door of regressive access
To be in its accessibility no longer in existence
Without distress, but as eyewitness to His lovingkindness
And to Him, to witness to His overflowing aliveness
No longer in blindness, the choice He gives
For personal ambition or for Him to live
Openhanded in relation to all excepting of to Whom I cling
Exalting God to His proper standing
By usurping self from His throne in my being
When choice-making over man and money and personal uplifting
By bent of my soul in its high honor
As image of my Creator Father
I choose Him to be exalted
Him to rule in all His knowledge
In understanding and His new standing, welcome
More must Christ become, less must I become
Of significance is this mindset of allowance
In determined obedience, this soul-bentness
To rise in His eyes from piteous to alive in the honor high
Of His image nigh, of the great I Am Am I,
am I.
