Things of God Spoken Word Poetry

Things of God by Emily Ulman

Things of God, What Scripture Reveals Our Spirit Experiences During Our Dying shares the results of much time spent in God’s Word. I’m now on a quest that, though I would never have chosen it, I can’t not continue. My quest is to get this book into the hands so many struggling with their end of life coming sooner than expected, and those struggling with loss. I find it a comfort and a powerful tool; one I think Christ has big plans to use to impact His Kingdom for His glory.

In utter darkness
Nevertheless, no more gloom
In the shadow of death
For those in distress
For those in darkness
Light unto us has dawned
In the Child to us born

With joy increased rejoice
As at the harvest bounteous
For the rod in its oppression
Shattered is its burden
By this Child to us born
For this Son given us
Is the Prince of Peace to us

He reigns in His Kingdom
Forever with justice
Forever with righteousness
From gloom and distress of darkness, turn This Child profess:
Immanuel, God With Us
His Light, walk in this with hopefulness

Of our disobedience we lament,
we repent In humbleness,
our sin we confess
In Your mercifulness, O Lord, forgive us
In newness, in straightforwardness
Make us Your near and dear servants,
whole O Lord of us,
born to us, Christ Jesus
Light of the World to us,
God of us all.
